| III. OUTREACH INITIATIVES | |
| Job Fairs | We participated in 3 Job Fairs with the following organizations; St Cloud Technical College on March 27, 2007, MN Workforce on September 20, 2007, and the Business Careers Job Fair held by the St Cloud Chamber of Commerce on February 15, 2007. Participants were General Manager, Program Directors, Business Manager, Information Specialist, News Director, and Director of Sales. |
| High School and College students shadowing our employees for job experience | John Uran and Mike Reagan (sales) and Joey Hoops, Don Monson and Laura Kremers (programming) had an Alexandria Tech College student shadow them. We have also been in contact with Sauk Rapids High School to work with them on a shadowing program. |
| Internship programs | Regent consistently provides opportunities for interns to work in sales, production, and promotion. In 2007 we had a Production intern from St John's University as well as using our North Park University intern during the 2007 summer season again. |
| Participation in Internet/ Online program designed to promote outreach generally |
Regent utilizes the following periodicals advertising our Equal Opportunity Statement: EEO&E Journal and Minority Resources. |
| Soliciting for job opening posting sites | We use both on-air and mailings to solicit for organizations to list our job openings. |
| Training to qualify for higher level positions |
Through open dialogue and a conscience effort we successfully provide the opportunity for the midlevel management team to gain training from the General Manager, Director of Operations, Director of Sales, and the Business Manager. It is our practice to share as many of the correspondences from the corporate level as is appropriate with the mid-level management to expose them to the larger picture, to give depth to their present management positions, which may qualify them when upper level management positions open. On the programming side we include the Assistant Program Managers with the annual consultant visits to give them a better idea of what is involved in making their stations successful. |
| EEO Training | Periodically managers meet to discuss recruiting, interviewing, EEO policies and procedures, and methods of preventing discrimination. Additionally on October 29, 2007 the Business Manager attended a conference highlighting EEO policies presented by a local law firm and the Minnesota Broadcasters Assoc. |
